The Executive Secretary of the Plateau State Drugs and Medical Commodities Management Agency (DMCMA), Pharmacist Kim Jerry Bot together with members of his management team have secured major partnership and support boost for his agency.
The partnership pledge came when Pharmacist Kim Jerry Bot led Plateau State Drugs and Medical Commodities Management Agency (DMCMA) paid a courtesy visit on the State Coordinator of the Sustainable Development Goals, Mrs Nanbam Danjuma Lot, at the State Support Unit Office along Shiaka Road, Off Gold & Base Road, Jos.

In his remark, Pharmacist Kim Jerry Bot told Mrs Lot that he had led his management team to her office first to congratulate her on her appointment by Governor Caleb Mannaseh Mutfwang and also to seek partnership with her strategic office in order to deliver on the mandate of the agency which is largely domiciled in goals 3 and 17 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, which her office plays a keys role in implementing.
He noted that his agency’s mandate targets the well-being of individuals and it particularly considers very well the safety of quality medicines, individual quality medicines and generally universal health coverages for Plateau people, which is in line with ‘The Time is Now’ mandate of Governor Caleb Mutfwang who placed premium on programs and projects that improve the quality of life Plateau people.


“So how do we look into this as an agency? One of our key roles is to ensure that quality medicines, safe medicines, accessing these medicines and ultimately ensuring that affordable medicines are made available to the public.” He said.
He added that they had come to see how they will synergize with the SDGs office, in order to take advantage of the Drug Revolving Schemes and other incentives which are injected into government agencies like DMCMA that are key drivers of these drugs.
“Now that we are here, we hope to bring this, our baby agency to you to see how you can also inject that component of your goal No. 3 and trust us. And then again we take up the burden from you and periodically report to you, to see how much we can work together. Key thematic areas that will help us in this are the fact that we actually have on ground persons who are well trained to do that, though we have starting building and we are hoping that by the grace of God we will have more people come on board because of the demand.” Pharmacist Bot stressed.

Responding the Plateau State Coordinator Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Mrs Nanbam Danjuma Lot thanked Pharmacist Kim Jerry Bot and his management team for their visit and pledge her support and that of her office to the Plateau State Drugs and Medical Commodities Management Agency (DMCMA) for the good of Plateau people, stressing the need for collaboration in achieving the UN Sustainable Develop Goals which impacts greatly on the people by ensuring their good health and well being. She highlighted that the most important and essential component of the sustainable development goals No. 3 is to provide access to safe and effective medicines and vaccines for all, which is something her office and DMCMA can work on, stressing that she is will to partner with the agency to achieve this goal for the good of the people.

In a related development, the General Manager of the Plateau Publishing Company (PPC), Mr Chris Gyang has pledged to support the Plateau State Drugs and Medical Commodities Management Agency (DMCMA) in the publicity of the activities of the agency.
Mr Gyang made this known when he received in his office at Standard Build, Off Yakubu Gowon Way, Jos, the Executive Secretary of the Plateau State Drugs and Medical Commodities Management Agency, Pharmacist Kim Jerry Bot who was on a courtesy call together with members of his management team.

In his remark the Executive Secretary, Plateau State Drugs and Medical Commodities Management Agency, Pharmacist Kim Jerry Bot told the GM of PPC that considering that it was one of the oldest and strategically place organizations in Plateau which a large readership and followership, he had come to see for partnership and support to help publicize the activities of the agency.

Responding, General Manager, Plateau Publishing Company (PPC), Mr Chris Gyang said that since assumption of office, the Plateau State Drugs and Medical Commodities Management Agency (DMCMA) was the first to visit him, seeking partnership and support, and as such he graciously announced that PPC will ensure that all activities of the agency are given the needed publicity in line with ‘The Time is Now’ mandate of his Excellency Governor Caleb Mannaseh Mutfwang, which gives priority to projects and programs of government that are beneficial to Plateau people.
