Governor Mutfwang not interfering in administration of LG Funds says Chief Ephraim Plateau Commissioner for Local Government

The Plateau State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Chief Ephraim Usman has insisted that the Governor of the state, Barrister Caleb Mutfwang does not interfere in the administration of local government financial resources.

Chief Usman made the clarification on Tuesday 21st May 2024 while contributing on Plateau Radio Television Corporation (PRTV) Peace 90:5 FM while presenting the one-year scorecards and how the local government chairmen are driving governance at the grassroots level.

According to him, Mutfwang is focused on developing the state. “As it stands, the administration of Governor Caleb Mutfwang doesn’t interfere in the resources of the local government workers. When we came on board, we met the backlog of salaries of the council workers amounting to N4.7billion, but this government has cleared salaries and they workers are happy.”

According to him, most of the local government chairmen have performed well in the areas of education and healthcare, among others.
