The Chairman of the Mhiship Community and Cultural Development Association (MCCDA), Jos South branch and National Auditor NULGE Comrade Shamdung Ayuba Jepla has caution Development Associations, Religious Bodies, Student Associations and indeed Social gatherings to take caution especially in prioritizing huge financial donations only from politicians as the basis for determining the suitability of the choice of leaders into elective positions across the constituency.
This act to him will discourage upcoming politicians that have genuine intentions to serve the people and may fracture the system of selection of leaders who will genuinely care for the plights of the people in the future. Comrade Shamdung made this known in Jos on Sunday 27th October 2024 while discussing social and political issues within Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency with our correspondent.

While responding to questions on the socio-political development of the Federal Constituency, Comrade Shamdung in his own words said “Hmmm! Development Associations, Religious Bodies, Students Associations and social gatherings in PKK seem to take advantage of cash-count of some of our politicians to rate them not minding the legitimacy of their source is seriously discouraging the upcoming politicians in the zone that have the genuine intentions to serve it’s people.”
“This practice of announcing a juicy donation is commonly done only in PKK and it becoming an embracing scenarios and should be stop forth with if we want leadership on merits not what you have.”
He expressed concern that the matter seemed prevalent in Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency compared to other federal constituencies in Plateau State and warned that generations the come may drift into focusing on the person with the most money only, without necess considering the source of such a person’s resources.
