Executive Chairman, Mikang LGC prioritizes Youths involvement at PYC Mikang LGA District EXCO Inauguration

The Executive Chairman of Mikang LGza Hon Dr Benan Soepding Alkali PhD, FCNA has restated his commitment to develop Mikang LGA through unity, spearheaded by youths. This he disclosed at the 2024 Soepding Unity Connect for the Youths of Mikang held the 27th of December 2024. The Chairman congratulated the PYC District EXCO of Montol, Piapung, Koenoem and Garkawa and urged them to do their best in contributing to their quota in developing Mikang LGA.

“The speech is presented below; THE SPEECH OF THE EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN OF MIKANG LOCAL GOVERNMENT COUNCIL. SPEARHEADING THE UNITY PROJECT BY PRACTICAL PARTICIPATION WITH THE YOUTHS FOR THE REALIZATION OF THE MIKANG OF TOGETHERNESS .PROTOCOLBy the decision of God and of the good people of Mikang Local Government Area , I no longer need to introduce myself. Let me specially welcome you all to this remarkable event that have entered the memorable records of leadership in our dear Local Government. This biphasic program is of inaugurating the district Executives of the Mikang chapter of Plateau Youth Council and discussing our unity through the SYMPOSIUM titled ; SEOPDING UNITY YOUTH CONNECT / SOEPDING UNITY SYMPOSIUM.”

“Let me most profoundly congratulate all the executives of Plateau Youth Council from the districts of Montol, Piapung , Koenoem and Garkawa on your inauguration on this very day of history. You are executives exactly at the right time that your contributions are needed for the collective good of Mikang people and I therefore entreat you to light up your candle of patriotism for the task ahead .Winston Churchill once said and I quote ” the price of greatness is responsibility “, the greatness of Mikang rely on the collective responsibility we can take as a people including the Plateau Youth Council officials of both the local government and of our various districts. After this inauguration I will be pleased to see the active contributions of our youths that bears the potency of putting us collectively on the path of greatness.”

“The SEOPDING UNITY SYMPOSIUM , This initiative actually baffles me as to the drive behind the coining of the theme of the program because of the relevance of unity to societal development and of how the topic was joined with my name , I am sure it due to my passion for the unity of Mikang.My concern about the advancement of Mikang predates my emergence as the Chairman of Council and another point that have overtime been of major interest to me is the unity of our people. I am sure that the organizers of this program designed it to capture my agenda for our people which seems to be a major factor that will enable us create a developmentally conducive environment in Mikang.”

“Whosoever that have had the opportunity to work with me will confirm to you without hesitation how I place in a prime position the unity of purpose that is required for our communal advancement. I approved this program because of the enormity of relevance I attach to unity but my desire for the peace and unity of Mikang will depend greatly on the readiness of the youth to embrace same and this program will offer us the reorienting opportunity. Opon our assumption into office, I constituted a high powered need assessment committee to go round all the districts and to our various wards to ascertain the genuine needs of our people to guide our actions in working with the exact things that our people want before adding the projects we intend to execute that will bring to bear my vision to Mikang people.”

“We have encouraged the activities of the various tribal development associations with my presence in a lot of their meetings and the end of year parties even on short notice. In a deliberate milestone achievement for our unity I called all the former chairmen and their deputies to seek that we collectively brainstorm to advance the course of mikang project devoid our party, tribal and religious variation. Recently the office of the first lady of Mikang also got our endorsement and support to organize the end of year children festival that brought about the presence of children from the four districts to Tungkus to unite together and celebrate.”

“My wife also empowered selected widows in critical needs and the wifes of some politicians drawn across the eighteen State wards of Mikang . All the aforementioned line up of events are deliberate steps geared towards breeding, nurturing and sustaining the peace and unity of our people. My predecessor have laid the lofty foundation we can rely on especially in his equitable empowerment of our people across the districts with fertilizers and other such things that brought about the ease of doing businesses for our people and we intend to contribute meaningfully to complement the already established scheme.”

“As we walk the talk this event should mark the date that the youths of Mikang will start looking at each other as brothers in the true spirits of collectivism just like Hellen Keller said and I quote ” Alone we can do so little ; together we can do so much ” let us walk together for our greater good . As the Executive chairman of Mikang Local Government I have prioritize the unity and peace of Mikang and I know that today is the game changer in the equation of governance in Mikang . My people we must realize the Mikang of togetherness as the name of our local government stands and I therefore make bold to declare that the Mikang of togetherness have begin today.”

The SOEPDING UNITY CONNECT FOR THE YOUTH of Mikang is an initiative that was crafted by the Mikang Chapter of the Plateau Youth Council to strengthen the bond that binds the youth of mikang together just like in the words of Martins Luther King Jr. who once said that ;” we must learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools “. The project will also avail us the opportunity to discuss the personality of the Executive Chairman of Mikang Local Government who have epitomize unity in practical terms.

He believes in the firmly rooted policy of the unity of Mikang as coined by our forbearers as he remains one unifier who can sacrifice anything in the interest of preaching peace and unity .The initiative is the demonstration of the readiness of the youth to contribute their quota towards the unity project of Mikang with reference to template of unity currently leading the Local Government.The Chairman have proven himself as a square peg in a square hall while discharging his official responsibility as chairman, he has embraced proactive leadership as a means of solving the leadership problem bedeviling the third tire of government with his inclusive governance model with quest for societal stability.
