Hon. Peter Lamba Gwom, Commissioner for Environment, Climate Change, and Mineral Development, outlined efforts to combat erosion, climate change, and improve water access. Over 2,000 households now benefit from water harvesting systems, with focused interventions in flood-prone areas and ongoing erosion control projects expected to complete by October.In partnership with the World Bank-backed ACReSAL and the European International Bank, the ministry is also strengthening climate resilience. Additionally, a 17.1km perimeter fence is being constructed around Jos Wildlife Park to enhance conservation efforts and curb illegal mining.Hon. Gwom assured the public of full transparency and confirmed that the ministry is ready to share progress reports and photographic evidence of ongoing projects.

Hon. Ubandoma Joshua Laven, Commissioner for Works, revealed that 49 inherited road projects are currently underway, with 17 of them already approved and actively progressing. Key roads in communities like Jengre and Karampana are receiving attention, with major urban roads like Bukuru Road and Yelwa Club Junction undergoing improvements to ease traffic flow and enhance mobility.Laven emphasized that the administration is prioritizing the completion of inherited projects rather than launching new ones, ensuring long-term solutions. He noted that the improvement of road infrastructure is attracting new residents to Jos and increasing housing demand.

*Youth Empowerment and Sports Development*
*Hon. Musa Ibrahim Ashoms, Commissioner for Youth and Sports, highlighted the government’s focus on youth development through sports, skills training, and economic opportunities. Plateau athletes have been sponsored to international competitions in Morocco and Egypt, while upgrades at Rwang Pam Stadium continue.The Commissioner also announced that the Plateau Youth Agricultural Employment Program has already empowered 340 youths, with plans to reach 1,000 by the end of the year. Ashoms emphasized the administration’s commitment to providing equal opportunities for all youths across the state.

*Urban Development and Housing Revitalization*
Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Arc. Sylvanus Dongtoe, detailed the revival of abandoned projects, including a 6.7km road now under construction. Roads like Nukong and Masabashi Chuma have been extended and completed under the renewed initiative.Dongtoe introduced the SmartUSD initiative to drive smart urban development, highlighting the ongoing development of new towns for investors, metro bus shelters, and fire safety upgrades to government buildings with federal support.
