Jos, Plateau State – May 29, 2025 — Plateau State Governor, His Excellency Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has expressed deep gratitude to God and the people of Plateau State as he marked the second anniversary of his administration with a grand Thanksgiving Service at the Polo Field, Jos.

The event, held on Wednesday, drew an impressive gathering of stakeholders including former governors, serving lawmakers, members of the judiciary, traditional and religious leaders, as well as citizens from across the 17 local government areas of the state.

In a statement issued shortly after the event by Gyang Bere, Director of Press and Public Affairs to the Executive Governor, he described the occasion as “a solemn yet joyous reflection on God’s faithfulness, the resilience of the Plateau people, and the remarkable journey of transformation that has begun under Governor Mutfwang’s leadership.”
“This Thanksgiving is not merely ceremonial,” Bere stated. “It is a sincere expression of gratitude by His Excellency, who recognizes that the journey thus far has been sustained by divine intervention and the unwavering support of the people. The governor deeply appreciates the sacrifices made by Plateau citizens, especially during the most challenging times of the electoral and judicial processes.”

According to Bere, Governor Mutfwang used the occasion to highlight the victories and challenges encountered over the past two years, while also casting a bold vision for Plateau’s future.
“The Governor made it clear that Plateau’s transformation is still unfolding,” Bere said. “He referred to the current achievements as ‘the days of small beginnings,’ and encouraged citizens to remain united and hopeful, reaffirming his pledge to deliver inclusive development, peace, and prosperity.”

Bere also noted the governor’s commendation of increasing interfaith and interethnic harmony, applauding groups such as Matan Zumunta and COCIN Rayfield for embodying the spirit of unity that the administration seeks to promote.
“Governor Mutfwang said, and I quote, ‘From today, let us commit to being our brother’s keeper, regardless of tribe, tongue, or denomination. We are leaving behind the valleys of retrogression and indecision. Together, we march toward the land of promise,’” Bere recounted.

Delivering the sermon titled *“Product of God’s Grace,”* Rev. Nwosu C. Thompson of the Redeemed People’s Mission likened Governor Mutfwang to a modern-day Solomon, chosen to bring healing and stability to Plateau. He prophesied an end to bloodshed and a new era of peace.

Dignitaries such as former Governor Bitrus Atukum, COCIN President Rev. Amos Mozo, the Gbong Gwom Jos, Da Jacob Gyang Buba, and CAN Chairman Rev. Fr. Polycarp Lubo (represented by Rev. D. Yunnana) offered goodwill messages that praised the administration’s achievements and emphasized their hope for continued success.
The Thanksgiving Service featured vibrant musical ministrations and intercessory prayers, with thousands of attendees celebrating Plateau’s unity and the government’s renewed commitment to serving the people.
“His Excellency remains focused, determined, and inspired,” Bere concluded. “This is just the beginning. By the grace of God, Plateau’s best days are still ahead.”
