Jos, Nigeria – June 4, 2025
In a powerful show of solidarity, the Forum of Ethnic Youth in Nigeria has issued a strong rebuttal to recent anonymous allegations leveled against Major General A.E. Abubakar, Theatre Commander of Operation Hadin Kai and former head of Operation Safe Haven, Jos.
Speaking during a well-attended press conference at the Azi Nyako Youth Center, the forum — a coalition of tribal youth leaders from across Nigeria — denounced the allegations as “malicious, unfounded, and harmful to the integrity of the Nigerian military.”
The press text, signed by Activist Sadiq Kwaltommai, CNA (Forum President and National Youth Leader of Bogghom Nation), Okenna Patrick Chukwuma (Forum Secretary) , and Abdullazeez Shehu Haji (Forum Public Relations Officer) reaffirmed the forum’s full support for Major General Abubakar’s leadership style and operational successes.
“Ordinarily, we would not respond to unverified claims from anonymous sources, but these defamatory statements are aimed at discrediting a man who has dedicated his life to the protection of our nation,” said Kwaltommai.
Allegations Described as Divisive and Misleading
The allegations in question accuse Major General Abubakar of abandoning vulnerable communities and misusing military personnel for civilian projects — claims the youth leaders described as baseless and deliberately divisive.
The forum emphasized that, under Abubakar’s command, Operation Safe Haven not only recorded tactical military victories but also launched nclusive community development projects, such as: Construction of schools and healthcare centers, Provision of clean water through boreholes, Inter-local government football tournaments aimed at promoting peace and social cohesion.
“These projects benefited all communities equally, regardless of ethnic or religious background. They were designed to tackle the root causes of insecurity — poverty, lack of access to education, and communal division,” added Forum Secretary Chukwuma.
Security Successes and International Crime Busts Cited
In addition to community engagement, the forum highlighted notable security milestones, including the arrest of four Pakistani nationals involved in arms trafficking in Nigeria’s troubled North East — an operation they credited to Major General Abubakar’s proactive intelligence strategies.
“Such results speak volumes. The narrative of inaction or favoritism simply doesn’t align with the documented achievements of the operations under his command,” said Forum PRO Haji.
Vote of Confidence and Call for National Support
In conclusion, the youth leaders passed a vote of confidence on Major General A.E. Abubakar and urged Nigerians to remain focused on supporting the military’s efforts rather than amplifying divisive and demoralizing propaganda.
“We stand firmly with Major General Abubakar. His leadership aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s vision for national peace and stability,” the statement read.
The press conference ended with patriotic salutes and a renewed call for unity among Nigeria’s diverse ethnic groups in the face of persistent security challenges.
