In a heartfelt gesture of goodwill and community development, Chief Dr. Moses Nwan, mni, Executive Private Secretary to Plateau State Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, and National President of the College of Education Gindiri Alumni Association (CEGAA), has empowered the less privileged in Pushit Ward, Mangu Local Government Area. This initiative was timed to commemorate Governor Mutfwang’s remarkable two-year milestone in office.
On June 4, 2025, Chief Dr. Nwan personally led the distribution of fertilizer and cash donations to carefully selected beneficiaries across all 28 units of Pushit. The empowerment focused primarily on widows and persons with disabilities, aiming to boost agricultural productivity and provide economic relief during this critical farming season.
This intervention complements Governor Mutfwang’s wider vision to revitalize food production in Plateau State, which has been a priority throughout his administration. By empowering grassroots farmers and vulnerable community members, Chief Dr. Nwan’s efforts are helping to translate the Governor’s policies into tangible impacts on the ground.
The event was graced by notable dignitaries, including Barr. Mrs. Olivia Dazyam, Chairperson of the Plateau State Gender and Equal Opportunities Commission. In her keynote address, she applauded Governor Mutfwang’s commitment to gender equality, highlighting how his administration has revived and implemented the Gender and Equal Opportunities Law—previously neglected—to protect citizens and reduce family conflicts and violence.
Hon. Sani Abubakar Golden, Liaison Officer of Mangu North, praised the empowerment initiative, noting, “The fertilizers and cash donations will greatly aid this year’s farming season, leading to a bumper harvest and improved livelihoods.” He also acknowledged the Governor’s efforts in restoring peace and security to Pushit, as well as his commitment to infrastructure development, particularly the crucial road linking Pushit to Gindiri.
Expressing gratitude on behalf of the people, Mishkaham Pushit, Da. Diner Gupiya, lauded Chief Dr. Nwan’s continuous support. “His contributions have been both timely and impactful, ensuring our farmers have the necessary resources to succeed. The community is truly grateful,” she said.
Traditional rulers from Pushit and neighboring areas hailed Chief Dr. Nwan as a beacon of hope, whose dedication transcends local boundaries, benefiting the entire Plateau State. The atmosphere at the event was one of celebration and optimism, reflecting a collective resolve to build a greener, more prosperous future.
The ceremony also doubled as a joyous occasion to extend best wishes to Chief Dr. Nwan’s son, Panshak, and his bride-to-be, Esther, ahead of their wedding scheduled for June 7, 2025, in Jos.
Beneficiaries and community leaders alike offered prayers for Governor Mutfwang’s continued success and pledged unwavering support for his administration’s agenda, including his anticipated re-election campaign in 2027.
This remarkable event underscored a shared commitment among leaders and citizens to uplift the less privileged, strengthen agricultural productivity, and sustain peace — key pillars in the ongoing transformation of Plateau State under Governor Mutfwang’s visionary leadership.
