Plateau state is set to host the Plateau Entrepreneurship and Investment Summit (PLEIS 2025) from July 3rd to 4th, 2025, in Jos the state capital, as part of efforts to stimulate enterprise growth, attract strategic investments, and deepen entrepreneurial development across the state.
Themed “Plateau’s Renaissance: Leveraging Innovation, Enterprise, and Strategic Investment,” the summit will be held at the CRISPAN Suites and Events Centre. It is being positioned as a flagship annual event that brings together key public, private, and development actors to foster inclusive economic transformation and catalyze sustainable business opportunities.
PLEIS 2025 is designed as a multi-stakeholder platform that focuses on strengthening Plateau’s business ecosystem, especially for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), under-tapped value chains, and emerging sectors such as ICT, agriculture, tourism, energy, and the creative economy.
According to Cletus Akhimien, the Convener and Lead Technical Partner Media, made available to journalists on Tuesday in Jos, the summit is “a deliberate interface to unlock Plateau’s investment opportunities, spotlight innovative enterprises, and create financing linkages that can power real growth”;. He emphasized that the summit is curated to accelerate practical investment pipelines and scalable entrepreneurship models.
Akhimien noted that preparatory consultations are already underway with key Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), the Plateau State Microfinance Development Agency (PLASMIDA), the Plateau State Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (PLACCIMA), the organized private sector, and development institutions to ensure inclusive participation and local ownership.
He added that highlights of the two-day event will include sectoral investment panels, startup and MSME pitching clinics, investor roundtables, diaspora engagement sessions, enterprise exhibitions, and public-private dialogue platforms. The summit will also recognize innovation through enterprise awards and host thematic masterclasses for business leaders.
He noted that PLEIS 2025 comes at a time when Plateau is transitioning from fragility to stability, and from missed opportunities to measurable outcomes. With reforms in digital governance, financial inclusion, and targeted support for youth and women-led businesses, the state is witnessing renewed economic confidence.
Akhimien extended an open invitation to all ecosystem players including investors, donor agencies, entrepreneurs, academic institutions, and sector regulators to register, sponsor sessions, or partner through the summit’s official website. “This summit is an open call to those who want to do business in Plateau, with Plateau, and for Plateau,” he said.
