Governor Mutfwang Celebrates Nigeria at 65 – Prays for Peace and Unity

As Nigeria marks its 65th Independence Anniversary, the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Nigerians at home and in the diaspora, calling for renewed commitment to peace, unity, and national transformation.

In a statement issued on Wednesday 1st October 2025 by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere, Governor Mutfwang described the Independence Day celebration as both a significant milestone and a solemn moment of reflection on the country’s journey since 1960.

“This milestone calls for sober reflection on our unity, peace, and progress as a nation. Our hope and confidence remain that God Almighty is at work in Nigeria, and despite our challenges, this nation shall surely rise to greatness,” he stated.

Governor Mutfwang paid tribute to Nigeria’s founding fathers, praising their courage and unity of purpose which led to the nation’s independence. He urged all Nigerians to draw inspiration from their legacy by working together for the country’s advancement.

Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to peace, security, and inclusive governance in Plateau State, the Governor assured citizens that his government will continue to prioritize the protection of lives and property, infrastructural development, and social cohesion across all divides.

He further extended warm felicitations to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and called for wisdom, resilience, and integrity among national leaders.

The statement concluded with prayers for lasting peace and tranquility across the country, as well as prosperity for all Nigerians.
