ALGON Awards ₦700 Million Contract for Construction of Anatomy Laboratory to support College of Medicine and Health Sciences at PLASU

The Plateau State chapter of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) has awarded a contract worth over ₦700 million to Debdans Multibiz Nigeria Limited for the construction of an Anatomy Laboratory for the College of Medicine and Health Sciences at the Plateau State University (PLASU), Bokkos.



This was contained in a statement by the Information Officer, Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Edward Damwesh.

According to the statement, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Chief Ephraim Usman Gar, announced the project when he led ALGON members on a courtesy visit to the management of Plateau State University, Bokkos.



Chief Usman stated that the initiative reflects the strong partnership between the 17 Local Government Councils in Plateau State and the university, reaffirming the Mutfwang administration’s commitment to enhancing educational infrastructure across the state. He emphasized that Plateau people are the primary beneficiaries of the university’s growth and reiterated ALGON’s resolve to support transformative educational projects.



Receiving the delegation, the Vice-Chancellor of Plateau State University, Prof. Shedrack Best, commended ALGON for the intervention, describing it as a landmark development in the university’s infrastructural growth. He further informed the delegation of plans by the university to construct a dam and expand its academic programmes to accommodate more students and research initiatives.



Also speaking, the Vice Chairman of ALGON and Chairman of Jos South Local Government Area, Hon. Patrick Silas Dung, stressed the need for sustained collaboration among stakeholders to ensure the success of the project and similar initiatives.



On his part, the contractor, Engr. Timothy Tola, assured the university community of a durable, high-quality structure that will serve generations of medical students.

The highlight of the occasion was the signing of the contract documents and the official handover of the project site to the contractor.
