Troops of Operation Safe Haven Neutralise Bandits in Wase LGA of Plateau State – Recover Weapon



Troops of 3 Division Nigerian Army and Special Task Force code-named ‘Operation Safe Haven’ have neutralised bandits in Wase LGA of Plateau State. According to a statement by the Media Information Officer of Operation Safe Haven, Major S. N Zhakom, its waa announced that that in the early hours of Saturday 31st May, 2025, troops of 3 Division/Operation SAFE HAVEN acting on credible intelligence conducted offensive operations at hideouts belonging to criminal elements along the fringes of Pinau Village in Wase Local Government Area (LGA) of Plateau State.

According to Zhakom, during the operation, troops made contact with criminal elements terrorizing the general area including Pinau – Gimbi road. In an exchange of fire, troops overwhelmed the criminals with superior firepower, and neutralised 3 of the bandits while others fled with gunshot wounds as indicated by the blood stains along their withdrawal routes.

Zhakom added that troops exploited the general area and recovered one AK-47 rifle and one AK-47 magazine. The recovered weapon is in custody for further action. Meanwhile, troops are conducting follow-up operations to intercept the fleeing criminals.

Troops of 3 Division/Operation SAFE HAVEN will consolidate on this success, with a view to strengthening their operational capability for more robust combat operations in dealing decisively with criminals in the Joint Operations Area.
