Nigerian Trained Medical Doctor, Philanthropist and Politician, Elkanah Garang has provided educational support to Internally Displaced Persons from communities across Bokkos LGA in Plateau State. This intervention is to ensure final year students from these communities are not disadvantaged by the insecurity bedevilling the local government.

He has put together a one-month intensive extra mural classes for final year secondary school students at the COCIN New Layout IDP Camp in Bokkos, Bokkos LGA. According to a statement issued by Dr Elkanah Garang The program which started on Tuesday 2nd April and is expected to run through till May against the forthcoming NECO and WAEC examinations. Dr Elkanah through his lieutenants recruited experienced teachers from the Local Government to coordinate the project, with Mr Alex Magit as coordinating principal.

Elkanah has been in the forefront of Philanthropic Interventions in Hinterland Communities across Nigeria. His interventions have touched on Infrastructure, Academic Interventions for Indigent Students in Tertiary Institutions, Socio-Economic Interventions and empowerment of women.
