Hon. (Engr.) Prince Mustapha Obaje, a leading aspirant for the Idah Federal Constituency seat, has withdrawn from the race in deference to the decision of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the leadership of Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Usman Ododo.

In a well-attended press conference held today in Idah, Prince Obaje announced his decision to step down, stating that the move was made in the overriding interest of unity, stability, and progress of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the forthcoming elections.
Addressing journalists, the respected aspirant expressed deep appreciation to the people of Idah Federal Constituency, his teeming supporters, youths, women groups, elders, and political associates for their unwavering support throughout the period of his aspiration.
“This decision was not taken lightly, but it is borne out of my abiding belief that the collective interest of our party and the development of our constituency must always come above personal ambition,” he said.

Prince Obaje reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC and pledged continued support for the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and that of Governor Usman Ododo. He urged his supporters to remain calm and fully align with the party’s position.
The engineer-turned-politician particularly thanked Governor Alhaji Usman Ododo, former Governor and incoming Senator Alhaji Yahaya Bello, Deputy Governor Joel Oyibo, and other top party leaders for their guidance and leadership.
He reiterated his commitment to the development of Idah Federal Constituency, promising to continue contributing his quota towards the progress and welfare of the people.
The withdrawal of Prince Mustapha Obaje is expected to further strengthen the APC’s internal cohesion in Kogi East Senatorial District as the party prepares for the general elections.
