Troops of Sector 7 of Joint Task Force Operation ENDURING PEACE have arrested six suspected terrorist logistics suppliers and recovered seven firearms during a stop-and-search operation in Kaduna State. The operation took place at about 9:40 a.m. on Monday at the Samaru checkpoint in Samaru Village, Zonkwa District of Zangon Kataf Local Government Area.

The suspects were intercepted while travelling in an ash-coloured Mercedes-Benz vehicle bearing registration number EDO GUE-722-LV. According to a statement signed by the Media Information Officer of Joint Task Force Operation ENDURING PEACE, Captain Chinonso Polycarp Oteh, the suspects were travelling from Jos, Plateau State, to Niger State when they were stopped by troops conducting routine security operations.

Captain Oteh stated that preliminary interrogation indicated the suspects confessed to travelling along the route, while troops recovered three AK-47 rifles, four submachine guns, and the Mercedes-Benz vehicle used for the journey.He further disclosed that one of the suspects attempted to flee during the operation but was immediately subdued. The suspect, according to the statement, is in stable condition and is cooperating with investigators. Captain Oteh explained that the operation forms part of the Joint Task Force’s ongoing offensive aimed at disrupting the activities of criminal elements and denying terrorist groups freedom of movement within the Operation ENDURING PEACE Joint Operations Area.

The military spokesperson added that all recovered items and the six suspects remain in military custody for further interrogation and intelligence exploitation. He also commended residents for their continued cooperation with security agencies and urged members of the public to remain vigilant by reporting suspicious persons and activities to the appropriate authorities. The operation is one of several security efforts aimed at strengthening counterterrorism operations and improving security across the region.
