Group Mobilizes Grassroots Support for Re-election of President Tinubu, Gov Mutfwang, Presents Ephraim Usman Gar for Senate

A grassroots political movement under the banner of the Tribe of Ephraim has launched a widespread advocacy campaign across the Plateau Central Senatorial District, mobilizing residents in a show of support for good governance and leadership continuity.

The initiative, which began with an advocacy walk expected to cover the five local government areas of the Plateau Central Senatorial Zone, is designed to raise awareness and consolidate support for Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and Plateau State Governor, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang.

Beyond endorsing the current administration, the movement is also advocating a shift in political representation within the Plateau Central Senatorial District, presenting Chief Ephraim Usman Gar as a credible alternative. Organizers say the push is driven by growing dissatisfaction over what they describe as inadequate representation and a pressing need for purposeful leadership in the zone.

Speaking during a major gathering in Bokkos on Sunday, April 26, 2026, the leader of the movement, Panle Samuel, addressed supporters—mostly youths—who turned out in large numbers in solidarity. He emphasized the group’s commitment to grassroots engagement and its resolve to influence the political direction of the district.

The advocacy train also recorded a significant outing in Kanke Local Government Area, particularly in Kabwir, where residents reportedly came out in large numbers to endorse both the President and the Governor, while throwing their weight behind Chief Ephraim Usman Gar as their preferred candidate.

Organizers say the campaign will continue across other parts of the senatorial district, including Pankshin, Kanam, and Mangu, as efforts intensify to build momentum and galvanize widespread support for what they describe as responsive governance and effective representation.
